Supervisory control refers to equipment
that allows for remote control of a substation's functions from a system control center or other point of
control. Supervisory control can be used to:
- operate circuit breakers,
- operate tap changers on power transformers,
- supervise the position and condition of equipment, and
- telemeter the quantity of energy in a circuit or in substation equipment.
