OSHA TO RECOGNIZE TOBYHANNA, PA ARMY DEPOT FOR OUTSTANDING WORKPLACE PRACTICES

The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration will officially welcome Tobyhanna Army Depot, Tobyhanna, Pa. into its prestigious MERIT Program at a plaque and flag ceremony to be held at the Depot on Tues., Aug. 31, 1999, 11:00 a.m. MERIT recognizes work sites that provide exemplary safety and health protection for employees.

The Tobyhanna Depot is the first Department of the Army site to be honored by OSHA's Voluntary Protection Program. The Depot, which employs 3,272 employees and provides full-service support for the entire spectrum of miliary communications-electronics systems, is noted for having injury rates well below the national average.
