OSHA renews alliances with Mexican Consulates aimed at safety for construction workers in South Texas
Travis Clark, director of OSHA's Corpus Christi Area Office signs alliance renewals with Consul of Mexico Juan Carlos Cué Vega in Brownsville, Texas.
Participants: The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Corpus Christi Area Office and the Mexican Consulates in Brownsville and Laredo, Texas.
Alliance description: The alliances provide Spanish-speaking workers with assistance and outreach materials in Spanish. Topics cover workers' rights, OSHA standards, construction safety hazards with an emphasis on falls hazards, caught-in or in-between hazards, as well as struck-by and electrocution hazards. Under these alliances, consulate personnel will work closely with OSHA's Corpus Christi Area Office to enhance outreach, training and education.

"This relationship will provide education and training to protect workers in high-risk industries and ultimately save lives."
