OSHA to hold meeting of National Advisory Committee on
Occupational Safety and Health Temporary Workers Work Group

WASHINGTON – The Occupational Safety and Health Administration will hold a meeting of the National Advisory Committee on Occupational Safety and Health's Temporary Workers Work Group on May 13, 2015, in Washington, D.C.

The workgroup will meet to continue discussion of workplace safety and health issues regarding temporary workers and develop recommendations for NACOSH's consideration. This includes developing best practice language for protecting workers as part of employers' injury and illness prevention programs.

The meeting will be from 11 a.m. - noon, in C-5515, Room C, at the U.S. Department of Labor, 200 Constitution Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20210. The meeting is open to the public. Persons interested in attending the meeting by teleconference should contact Ms. Gretta Jameson at (202) 693-2176 or Jameson.GrettaH@dol.gov by Tuesday, May 12.

NACOSH was established by the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 to advise and make recommendations to the secretaries of labor and health and human services on occupational safety and health programs and policies and matters relating to the administration of the OSH Act.

Under the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, employers are responsible for providing safe and healthful workplaces for their employees. OSHA's role is to ensure these conditions for America's working men and women by setting and enforcing standards, and providing training, education and assistance.
