OSHA will hold a meeting of the Maritime Advisory
Committee for Occupational Safety and Health
WASHINGTON - The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) will hold a meeting of the Maritime Advisory Committee for Occupational Safety and Health (MACOSH) in San Diego, Calif., July 19-20, 2011.
MACOSH advises Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health David Michaels, Ph.D., M.P.H., on worker safety and health in the maritime industries. The July meeting agenda includes discussions on maritime safety and health issues related to working safely around radiation, ventilation safety, and injury and illness prevention programs, among others.
The meeting will be held at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar, 11966 El Camino Real, San Diego, CA 92130. Work groups will meet from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 19. The full committee will meet Wednesday, July 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The rooms where these meetings will convene will be determined upon arrival.
MACOSH meetings and workgroups are open to the public. Individuals may submit comments and requests to speak during the meeting at http://www.regulations.gov, the Federal eRulemaking Portal. Submissions may also be sent by mail or facsimile. See the Federal Register notice for details. Comments and requests to speak must be submitted by July 10, 2011.
