ALLENTOWN, Pa. -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) today joined the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce to promote workplace safety and health by training the employees of Chamber members in the prevention of injury and illnesses. Jean Kulp, area director of OSHA's area office in Allentown represented the agency at a recent signing ceremony.
The TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce, located in Pottstown, Pa., serves more than 700 businesses in northern Chester, southeastern Berks, western Montgomery counties, and along the Pennsylvania Route 422 Corridor.
"OSHA and the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce recognize the value of an alliance which will help foster workplace safety and health for area employees," said Kulp. "Our goal is to educate employees on injury and illness prevention."
Through the alliance, OSHA and the TriCounty Chamber of Commerce will work together to develop and deliver training and education programs on occupational safety and health issues relevant to area businesses.
