U.S. Department of Labor's OSHA renews alliance with Delaware Safety Council Inc. to focus on roadway safety
WILMINGTON, Del. -- The U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Delaware Safety Council Inc. renewed its workplace safety and health alliance today at a signing ceremony at the OSHA Wilmington Area Office.
Through the alliance, OSHA and the Delaware Safety Council will deliver training and educational programs on roadway flagging safety and defensive driving, specifically targeted to business and corporate fleet operations. Additionally, the Delaware Safety Council Inc. will work together with OSHA to provide expertise to develop workplace safety and health curricula on safe operation of material handling equipment.
"Today's signing affords us the opportunity to continue the important work we started in an effort to make traffic work zones safer for equipment operators and workers," said Domenick Salvatore, area director of OSHA's Wilmington office.
Training programs will be offered on a monthly basis and are normally conducted jointly by Delaware Safety Council and OSHA personnel.
