WASHINGTON -- Washington Group International, headquartered in Boise, Idaho, was recently accepted into the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) VPP Corporate Pilot program. The VPP Corporate Pilot streamlines the application and onsite evaluation processes for organizations that have made a commitment to the Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP).
"Washington Group International has been a valued partner with OSHA by continually working with us through the Alliance and VPP cooperative programs," said Assistant Secretary of Labor for Occupational Safety and Health Edwin G. Foulke, Jr. "The corporation has successfully demonstrated the strong safety and health management standards necessary to support the principles of VPP. We are honored to recognize them for this accomplishment, and are pleased to welcome them into the VPP Corporate Pilot family."

Washington Group International was admitted after a complete review of its safety and health management system by a VPP Corporate Onsite Team. OSHA's program evaluation recognized the company's crisis management plan, along with its extensive safety and health training program, as particular areas of excellence. Washington Group becomes the fifth organization to be inducted into the VPP Corporate Pilot, joining Georgia-Pacific, International Paper, U.S. Postal Service and the Dow Chemical Company.
