Americold Logistics Achieves OSHA Recognition
Ceremony Held Today in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas -- Americold Logistics has earned membership in the prestigious "Star" Voluntary Protection Program of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). A recognition ceremony was held today at 1500 Railhead Drive in Fort Worth.

"Americold Logistics has demonstrated excellence in effective safety and health management," said OSHA Regional Administrator John Miles in Dallas. "Their outstanding efforts include having an injury and illness rate 85 percent below their industry average."

With about 72 workers, the primary process at this plant is receiving and distributing refrigerated food products.

The Voluntary Protection Programs recognize and promote effective workplace safety and health management. Throughout the U.S., about 1,300 work sites representing more than 280 industries participate in the programs. Companies in the VPP typically achieve injury and illness rates more than 50 percent below their respective industry's average rates.

Employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthful workplace for their employees. The role of the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration is to assure the safety and health of America's workers by setting and enforcing standards; providing training, outreach, and education; establishing partnerships, and encouraging continual improvement in workplace safety and health.
