Public Law 91-596 Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: Each employer shall furnish to each of his employees employment and a place of employment which are free from recognized hazards that are causing or are likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees during the cleaning of argon gas lines for a 4000 ton die cast machine. Hampshire, IL Jobsite - Employee performing maintenance on a magnesium die cast machine was not protected from the splatter of molten magnesium. A feasible and acceptable means of abatement is to follow the guidelines established in ANSI B152.1-1973 4.2 - Safety Requirements for the Construction, Care and use of Die Casting Machines.
