Text For Citation: 01 Item/Group: 001 Hazard:
OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to struck by hazards while loading and pushing steel trusses into the shot blaster. Carpe Diem Industries, LLC., on or about July 13, 2019, at the address of 4599 Campbell Rd. Columbus Grove, OH: Employees who load and push the trusses across a conveyor into the shot blaster were exposed to crushing hazards in that the trusses were not secured from tipping. An employee was fatally injured when a truss fell from the conveyor onto the employee.
