Summary Nr: 67150.015Event: 08/28/2014Employee Is Struck By Tree Section And Is Killed
At 11:00 a.m. on August 29, 2014, Employee #1 and a coworker (employer) were tri mming trees. The employee was standing in the road, giving a thumbs-up to the co worker to indicate that he was ready to accept and lower the tree section. The c oworker cut a 40 foot long, 16 inch diameter tree section that was 20 feet up fr om the base of the tree. Employee #1 was standing at the base of the tree when t he section came down, striking and killing him.
