Summary Nr: 38776.015Event: 01/07/2013Employee Falls Off Building And Is Killed
At 1:45 p.m. on January 7, 2013 an employee was working on a third floor level o f a commercial building painting horizontal beams located at the top of glass pa nels. The employee fell approximately 27 ft through a floor opening where a glas s panel was removed for the employees to gain access to the work area. The emplo yee was killed from blunt force trauma to the head and body. The employee was no t wearing fall protection equipment and the floor opening was not guarded or cov ered.
