Summary Nr: 22695.015Event: 07/02/2012Employee Killed Crossing Through Traffic And Ran Behind A Du
At 10:45 a.m. on July 2, 2012, Employee #1 was working on highway construction. Employee #1 had crossed the highway to retrieve a 70 mph sign to place it in the trailer of a truck. On the way back to the truck Employee #1 looked to the left to make sure the highway was clear of oncoming traffic heading south; however, Employee #1 did not look to the right which is the direction that a dump truck was heading. Employee #1 ran into the direct path of the truck and was hit by the driver of the truck. Employee #1 was killed suffering from multiple injuries to the body and head.
