Investigation Summary
At approximately 1:00 p.m. on September 2, 2009, Employee #1 was engaged in assembling components into an appliance hinge, a Frigidaire Model Number 316456300. The hinge is made up of a frame, catch latches and a compression spring which are held in place by rivets. Because of the nature of the stampings used in the assembly they present a sharp edge. Gloves were not provided and Employee #1 received a laceration to his right third finger.
