Summary Nr: 201507100Event: 12/16/2006Employee'S Finger Is Amputated In Conveyor
On December 16, 2006, Employee #1 was pushing a steel pallet down the gravity powered roller conveyor, with gloves on. He was standing at the end of the conveyor with both hands pushing the pallet away from his body. His fingers were over a 2-in. by 2-in. square steel tube that formed the bottom of the pallet. When the pallet passed over a shear point, the fingertip of his ring finger was extended down into a shear point and was severed at the first knuckle. He was hospitalized.
