At 10:15 p.m. on October 31, 2020, an employee who had become ill due to exposur e to COVID-19 died. Approximately one week prior to experiencing symptoms, the e mployee had performed chest x-rays on two patients who were positive for COVID-1 9, one on October 16, 2020, and one on Ocotber 17, 2020. The employee began expe riencing symptoms on approximately October 23, 2020, and asked the employer (a h ospital) for a rapid COVID test on Ocotber 25, 2020. The employee was found to b e positive for COVID-19 the same day. On October 28, 2020, the employee began to feel worse and went to the ER of another local hospital and was admitted. The e mployee contracted COVID-19 and passed away due to complications including eithe r a myocardial infarction or pulmonary embolism, complicated by metabolic enceph alopathy, hypoxemic respiratory failure, diabetes mellitus, and SARS-CoV-2 pneum onia. | ||||||
