Summary Nr: 126151.015 Event: 05/10/2020Employee With Covid-19 Infection Dies
At 8:16 p.m. on May 10, 2020, an employee who had been working as a temporary wo rker on a specialty fruit packing line died of COVID-19 infection. The employee' s last reported day of work was May 1, 2020. The employee became ill on May 2, 2 020, and did not return to work on the following Monday, May 4, 2020. On May 4 , 2020, the employee sought medical treatment for pain in her kidneys and a temp erature of 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The medical provider did not find any irregu larities based upon a urine test, but scheduled a SAR-CoV-2 test for May 7, 2020 and called her to come in for the test on May 6, 2020, instead. The employee r emained quarantined at home when she was contacted by the clinic on May 9, 2020, and informed of a positive SARS-CoV-2 result. The husband called EMS the eveni ng of May 10, 2020, and the employee arrived at the hospital at 8:06 p.m. and di ed of cardiac arrest at 8:12 p.m.
