Summary Nr: 126035.015 Event: 04/19/2020Employee With Covid-19 Infection Dies
An employee was working as a patient care associate at a general medical and sur gical hospital. He worked in the hospital's medical surgical unit. On April 1, 2 020, he became ill and called out of work. On April 7, 2020, the employer was no tified of the employee's hospitalization. On Sunday, April 19, 2020, the employe e died of a work-related infection with COVID-19. He had been exposed to coronav irus within the workplace. The narrative also says that this was a possible work -related COVID-19 fatality. This was an OSHA-covered fatality.
