Summary Nr: 124186.015Event: 02/21/2020Employee Is Killed In Fall From Lifted Truck Trailer
At 4:00 a.m. on February 21, 2020, Employee #1, employed by a containerized cargo company, was transporting a trailer to the marine terminal to be lifted onto a cargo ship. The trailer was on the truck chassis and when the crane went to lift the trailer; however, it also lifted the chassis and the driver. When the chassis was elevated approximately 50 ft, the driver fell out of the truck cabin and landed on the concrete ground. He suffered major head trauma and was killed.
