Accident Investigation Summary
Summary Nr: 123669.015Event: 01/20/2020Employee Experiences Seizure, Later Dies
At 2:00 pm on January 20, 2020, an employee at the Target store restocked her a ssigned display. After restocking her display, the employee left the store. Whil e leaving the store, the employee suffered a seizure and fell onto the cement f loor hitting her head, resulting in a laceration to her scalp. Employees from th e store helped her and notified the Manhattan Beach Fire Department. She was tr ansferred to the Harbor UCLA Hospital. At Harbor UCLA Hospital, the employee underwent a CT scan which showed a right temporal bone fracture in which a a ve ntricular drain was placed was inserted. The employee was, then, transferred to the Intensive care unit, where a followup head scan showed interventricular hemo rrhaging where a ventricular drain was placed. On January 26, 2020 at 6:58 p.m., the employee died from her injury.
