Summary Nr: 122258.015Event: 12/05/2019Employee Dies After Falling From Storage Tank Catwalk
At 1:00 p.m. on December 5, 2019, Employee #1, employed by a steel erection comp any, was working at the site of a storage tank. He climbed an interior permanen t ladder to reach the elevated catwalk and install a fall arrest line to the cat walk's guardrail. The employee fell through an open hole along the catwalk floo r, a fall height of 60 feet. The employee was transported to the hospital for t reatment of multiple fractures and internal injuries. He died from his injuries .
