Summary Nr: 120478.015 | Event: 10/04/2019 | Employee Dies After Struck By Semi-Truck | ||||
At 3:30 p.m. on October 4, 2019, Employee #1 and a coworker, EMS responders, were toned out to respond to a medical call. On the way to the call, they noticed a motor vehicle accident on the side of the road. They stopped to find out if there were any injuries. There were accident victims on both sides of the road. The coworker attended the victims standing on the grassy area near the engine while Employee #1 attended to a patient in one of the cars involved in the accident on the opposite side of the road from the fire engine. While Employee #1 was attending to a patient, a semi-truck drove through the scene and struck him. The coworker saw that Employee #1 had been struck, went over to him, and began to administer medical aid. Additional emergency personnel arrived at the scene. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital, but died from his injuries. | ||||||
