Summary Nr: 114248.015 Event: 03/05/2019Employee Amputates Finger In Conveyor
At 11:00 a.m. on March 5, 2019, an employee was removing a pallet that had becom e caught on a conveyor belt guard. A section of conveyor belt guarding was missi ng bolts to affix the guard in place causing the pallet to become stuck. When th e employee attempted to reposition the unfastened guard on the conveyor belt lin e, his fingers were caught by the conveyor belt drive mechanism chain, resulting in the partial amputation of two fingers on the left hand. Hospitalization was not required.
