Summary Nr: 114020.015Event: 02/15/2019Employee'S Fingertips Are Amputated By Hopper Mechanisms
At 12:05 p.m. on February 15, 2019, an employee was performing preventive mainte nance on a hooper machine. While lubricating the machine's pulley chain with a r ag, the machine cycled, pulling the rag and the employee's right hand into the m echanism. The fingertips of two fingers were amputated just above the finger nai ls. The employee was hospitalized.
