Summary Nr: 112703.015 Event: 12/28/2018Employee Amputates One Finger And Lacerates Second While Ope
At 10:52 a.m. on December 28, 2018, an employee was servicing a customer who had requested a 66 inch long cellular blind be cut. The employee made the first an d second cuts but the machine jammed while making the second cut. The employee tried removing the materials by using a Husky box cutter and was using her left hand's fingers to remove some of the scrap materials until the handle fell freel y. The employee lacerated her ring finger and amputated her pinky. The employe e was transported to John Muir Hospital, where she was admitted.
