Summary Nr: 111640.015Event: 12/06/2018Employee Sustains Leg Amputation When Pinned By Cars
At 11:12 a.m. on December 6, 2018, Employee #1 was washing the rear of a white F ord Explorer that was on the conveyor system in a car wash tunnel. A coworker d rove a black Ford Expedition into the tunnel and guided it onto the conveyor bel t at the entrance of the tunnel, approximately 20 feet away from Employee #1, wh o was washing the Ford Explorer. The coworker attempted to put the black Ford Ex pedition in neutral and accidentally accelerated, striking the white Ford Explor er and pinning Employee #1 between the two cars. Employee #1 was hospitalized an d sustained an amputation of his right leg.
