At 11:00 a.m. on May 24, 2018, Employee #1 and a coworker, employed by a road construction company, were engaged in site grading at a multiemployer road construction project. Employee #1 was dumping dirt from a dump truck onto the construction surface as his coworker operated a Caterpillar road grader. The road grader was backing up when it struck Employee #1. Emergency services were called, and Employee #1 was transported to the hospital. He was admitted and treated for fractures to three ribs.
