At 2:15 p.m. on February 21, 2018, an employee was reloading a Fleetwood Rotofee d Machine and removed a guard to be able to guide the can lids through a belt an d pulley area. The employee reached into this area with a pair of pliers to gra b a lid that had fallen through when a second can fell, pinching his finger betw een it and the machine frame. The employee amputated his right hand's index fin ger. Hospitalization was not required.
