Accident Investigation Summary
Summary Nr: 103911.015Event: 01/24/2018Employee Operating Table Saw Has Finger Amputated
At 9:00 a.m. on January 24, 2018, Employee #1, employed by a construction subcontractor, was engaged in renovation work at a hotel. He was operating a Dewalt table saw with unguarded blade and holding a 2 by 4 piece of wood that he was cutting. The blade hit a knot in the wood, the wood jerked, and Employee #1's left middle finger was pushed against the saw blade and partially amputated. Employee #1 was treated at the hospital and released without hospitalization.
