Summary Nr: 102622.015Event: 12/12/2017Employee Fixing Tire Is Injured When Tire Explodes
At 10:30 a.m. on December 12, 2017, Employee #1, employed by a utility services company, was driving a truck with a loaded lowboy trailer. He stopped to add ai r to a flat tire. As he worked on the tire, there was a sudden release of air p ressure, the tire exploded, and Employee #1 was thrown approximately 6 feet away . Emergency services were called, and Employee #1 was transported to the hospit al. He was admitted and treated for a concussion and head laceration, plus inju ries to his chest/lungs and both arms.
