At 12:15 p.m. on January 2, 2018, an employee was working for a firm engaged in rendering and meat byproduct processing. He was monitoring computers. His hand w as near a screw auger. A warning switch came on in advance of the incident, but his hand became caught in the screw auger. He sustained a laceration and fractur e in his hand. He was hospitalized.
