Summary Nr: 101089.015Event: 11/22/2017Employee Is Struck And Killed By Moving Piece Of Equipment
At 11:40 a.m. on November 22, 2017, Employee #1 was on a three-person crew moving a Commander-30H Cargo Loader, with a side-load platform, into position to unload a Boeing 777 aircraft. Employee #1 was assigned E-Stop Controller responsibilities. As the Cargo Loader was moving toward the aircraft, Employee #1 was discovered underneath the side-load platform. The other two crew members did not see the accident but it is apparent that Employee #1 was run over by the wheels under the platform. Employee #1 was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of injuries to abdomen and back.
