At 7:15 a.m. on November 27, 2017, Employee #1 was operating a double miter saw. A block became hung during the cut., resulting in Employee #1 reaching around t he blade guard to release the block. His right hand became struck against the sa w blade and his right index finger amputated. Employee #1 was hospitalized and r eceived treatment for his injury.
