Summary Nr: 99330.015Event: 09/22/2017Employee Falls Into Excavation And Fractures Vertebrae
At 12:30 p.m. on September 22, 2017, Employee #1, employed by construction excav ation company, was operating a Kobelco excavator at a residential construction s ite. He exited the excavator to hand a fitting to an employee working inside an excavated trench. The ground gave way, and Employee #1 fell into the excavatio n, a fall height of 13 feet. Emergency services were called, and Employee #1 wa s transported to the hospital, admitted, and treated for multiple fractured vert ebrae.
