Summary Nr: 96542.015Event: 06/16/2017Employee'S Three Fingers Are Caught, Pinched And Amputated B
At approximately 12:15 p.m. on June 16, 2017, Employee #1 was guiding the remova l of a ship mast from its socket. A crane was lifting the ship mast. The mast ca me out of the socket unexpectedly. It swung and pinched three fingers between th e mast and another part of the ship, amputating the fingers. Employee #1 was tra nsported to a medical center, where he underwent surgical procedures and additio nal treatment on the finger amputations and was then hospitalized.
