Summary Nr: 96455.015Event: 06/13/2017Employee Is Struck By Falling Stone Slab And Sustains A Head
At 10:00 a.m. on June 13, 2017, an employee was helping the plant manager unload stone slabs that had been cut the night before by the Eagle Saw. The employee w as on the ground using a crow bar to tip slabs towards the forks of the lift tru ck which was operated by the plant manager. The employee was bent over picking u p scraps of stone from ground. The employee's back faced the slab which fell ove r and struck the employee's head and leg. The employee sustained a head lacerati on and a fractured right femur.
