At 8:00 a.m. on September 14, 2017, Employee #1 was working at a residential construction site. He was using a Skilsaw circular saw and saw horses to cut a notch in a wood board. The saw kicked back, and the blade struck Employee #1's left thumb. Emergency services were called, and Employee #1 was transported to the hospital. He was admitted and treated for the amputation of his thumb.
