At 3:30 p.m. on October 11, 2017, an employee was cleaning a positive displacement pump between a refried bean production runs. The employee's tip of his left index finger was amputated when the employee placed his hand near a pump with rotating parts. The cover of the pump was removed for cleaning and the pump was not de-energized.
