On June 17, 2017, an employee was found dead at his apartment by his employer. T he Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police department responded to an emergency call made b y the employer upon discovery of the employee's body. The employees body was tr ansported to the North Carolina Medical Examiner's office, where examination rev ealed that the employee had died two days earlier, on June 15, 2017, from suspec ted opioid toxicity. Residue was found in one item considered to be drug paraphe rnalia and one item in a dime-size zip lock type bag containing a dark greyish s olid substance led investigators to suspect the cause of death to be drug relate d.
