At approximately 12:20 p.m. on September 21, 2012, Employee #1 was manually oper ating a Dynapac LP8500 vibratory trench compactor roller to level dirt along the side of a newly built concrete wall. While leveling the dirt with the compact r oller, the operator was caught in-between the roller and wall. The roller contin ued to forcefully pin Employee #1 against the wall, causing abdominal and chest injuries that killed him.
