On July 19, 2011, Employee #1 drove for 30 minutes, in an air conditioned vehicle, to a private farm to change a tractor tire. At approximately 11:45 a.m., the owner of the farm contacted the employer to inquire if Employee #1 was diabetic. The owner described Employee #1 as mumbling and stumbling around. The employer sent two additional employees to the site, where they found Employee #1 lying on the ground. They took Employee #1 to the hospital. At 7:00 p.m. on the same day, the company president was notified that Employee #1 had died. Preliminary reports showed that after Employee #1 was administered two bags of fluids, his internal body temperature was measured at 109 degrees (assumed to be Fahrenheit).
