On March 13, 2013, Employee #1, of CVE Contracting Group, Inc., dba Central Valley Environmental, was working at a commercial building demolition site. He was operating a Makita power-operated portable circular hand saw to cut a subfloor. The saw kicked back, and its blade made contact with Employee #1's right boot and toe. Employee #1 was transported to the hospital, admitted, and treated for a cut that reached from the top of the toe down through the bone.
