On April 27, 2006, Employee #1, a landscaping laborer, was mowing grass when the right side of the mower fell off the curb releasing the blade-activation lever. Employee #1 quickly bent down and placed his right hand underneath the frame of the mower with the intent to lift the mower back onto the lawn. While the blade coasting to a stop, three fingers came in contact with it, and the tips of two fingers were amputated and the third finger was lacerated. Employee #1 was not hospitalized. | |||||||
