On March 14, 2002, Employee #1, of S & R Construction, was cutting a 16-in. concrete pipe with a gas powered cutoff saw with a diamond tip blade. The pipe pinched the saw blade in place and when Employee #1 went to pull the saw out of the pipe, the blade ran up the pipe striking the employee in the face. The saw had the trigger locked in running position. Employee #1 was hospitalized with cuts to his face.
