At approximately 6:20 a.m. on March 17, 2010, the employee was in the process of relocating a locomotive wheel assembly, which weighed approximately 5,100 pounds, using a 15 ton overhead bridge crane. The load swung and pinned the employees' left leg between the swinging wheel assembly and a second stationary wheel assembly. The employee was taken to a Kansas City hospital and died on March 25, 2010 due to complications from multiple surgeries.
