At approximately 2:00 p.m. on July 25, 1990, Employee #1, a tire mechanic, was inflating a 13.6 by 28 tractor tire when the tire bead failed, causing the tire to slip off the rim. This allowed the tube to expand into the open area and finally blow apart, striking Employee #1. He and the tire were thrown approximately 8 ft into the air. Employee #1 suffered a fractured right arm, head lacerations, and a concussion. | |||||||
