Employee #1 was on a roof cutting old plywood with a model 77 Skil saw (portable power hand saw). The saw blade hit a nail, bounced back, and struck Employee #1 on his right shin. Employee #1 suffered a cut about 8 in. from the top of his foot to under his knee. He is now back to work. Examination of the saw showed an operating blade guard. Employee #1 said that the blade guard was in place at the time of the accident.
