Employee #1 was preparing a 100 lb LP gas cylinder for cleaning and painting. There was an oil-fired furnace running in the building and there appears to have still been gas in the cylinder. When Employee #1 attempted to remove the valve from the cylinder, the gas escaped, and the building blew up. Employee #1 ran out of the building as the gas started to escape, and caught on fire in the explosion. He was hospitalized with severe burns.
