At approximately 2:15 p.m. on April 13, 2021, an employee was a seamstress, and the employee was injured while cutting an 5/16" shock cord using an automated cu tting machine (Manufacturer: Sheffield, Model: H/C 530, Serial number: 4393). T he employee used a scissor first to cut a piece of 5/16" shock cord. Another cow orker saw her using the scissor and told her to use the other cutter to do the j ob. Instead of using the small cutter (located on the other end of the table), t he employee used the automated cutting machine (Manufacturer: Sheffield, Model: H/C 530, Serial number: 4393) to cut the 5/16" shock cord. The employee put her left hand inside the (another end) machine to check if the material was being cu t and coming out. In doing so, her left-hand index finger and thumb were amputat ed by the blades of the machine. The employee was treated but was not hospitali zed. | |||||||
